FlixBus continues Finland-Poland service after 1st month´s review

German bus service operator FlixBus on Wednesday decided to continue international bus route from Vaasa in Finland to Warsaw in Poland after reviewing the results of its one month´s operation in Finnish market, said the company in a press release on Thursday.

The company announced further expansion in the Finnish market in spring 2024 and a willingness to collaborate with local partners.

According to the results, more than half of tickets sold on this line were domestic trips in Finland, predominantly for trips between Helsinki and Turku while for international travel, passengers eagerly traveled all the way to Poland and Estonia.

FlixBus recently expanded its offerings in Finland. The first line was launched on July 27 as an extension of a route operating between Warsaw and Tallinn.

"We decided to introduce our buses to Finnish roads in response to the growing and unserved demand for sustainable and cost-effective travel between Finland, Baltic states and Central Eastern Europe. Until July customers had practically no other choice than flights or multiconnections between disintegrated means of transportation,” said Michal Leman, the Managing Director of FlixBus in Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic states.

The new line created by FlixBus in collaboration with Tallink enabled convenient traveling for people from Finland not only within the country but also further to Central Europe without the need for any transfers along the way.

“We are proud to be the first and, at the moment, the only cross-border operator that provides such easy traveling possibilities from Finland abroad," Leman added.

One of the many conveniences for Flix passengers is the availability of daily connections. Moreover, FlixBus provides the option to take bicycles on board of the bus. In just the first month after the launch of the route, more than 100 bicycles were transported along the entire route.

Except for Helsinki, FlixBus passengers can also start their trip from Espoo, Salo, Turku, Raisio, Rauma, Pori, Närpes, and Vaasa.
