Helsinki trams return to regular routes after renovation
Several tram services in Helsinki resumed operation in their regular routes along Mannerheimintie via Runeberginkatu and Reijolankatu on Monday after renovation works of the roads, said the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (Helsingin seudun liikenne – HSL).
The City of Helsinki started the renovation in the spring of 2023, which involved replacing the 100-year-old underground utility supplies and street surface structures.
Tram 2 resumed its normal route, traveling from Olympia Terminal via Töölö to Messukeskus.
Tram 3 started to run from Kuusitie via Alppiharju and Helsinginkatu to Mannerheimintie, continuing along Bulevardi to Olympia Terminal. It will fully return to its normal route once the temporary arrangements in Hakaniemi are lifted.
Tram 4 resumed operation between Meilahti and the Opera along Mannerheimintie while tram 10 resumed its normal route between Ullanlinna and Pikku Huopalahti.
