Technical glitch disrupts matriculation exam in many schools

Matriculation examination has been disrupted in many upper secondary schools due to technical glitch on Monday, on the first day of the examination, said the Matriculation Examination Board in a press release.

The glitch took place at about 9:00 a.m. when the authorities received error massage from the digital examination system at the beginning of the native language and literature test.

The error message warned the invigilators of at least 20 upper secondary schools that the space of the server disk was running out.

The digital examination system Abitti suffered technical glitch resulting the disruption, said the examination board and instructed the affected schools to temporarily suspend the examination and communicate with the technical support team in this regard.

The authority investigated into the problem and restored the system within few hours.

The examination in the affected schools, however, resumed after three to four hours and the examination board allowed the examinees to get full time compensation for the interruption.

The board apologised for the unwanted problem.
